New Yard Games At Fireseed

Wow has the weather been great here on Whidbey! This past winter we had been hard at work making a few changes and improvements to the property. The yard games area is done and has been a huge hit so far this season…Last August we had a very strange wind storm that blew over 8 of our poplar trees in the front yard area. After clean up we had to decide what to do with the area the tree stumps just were not pretty. Dave had the great idea to clear out the area flatten it and add a permanent yard games area. The area was progressing very nice but he had a lot of dirt to deal with so I had the idea to put in more garden and use the old stumps from the trees that blew over to shore up the new garden. We used some retaining wall that was not working in another area and added some split rail fencing to help define the new space. Dave made the ladder ball game and Tim, the amazing metal worker, made us a corn hole game. We also moved a very large table that has 8 chairs over to the new space. I have watched that new space at the last 6 events and young and old have been brought together through games and relaxation. The view is amazing the osprey and eagles fly over while you gaze at the lake while watching the little children you love giggling and playing, cheers and enjoy…
