Ideas And More For Your Wedding

Back to buttercream. After taking a backseat to fondant-covered cakes, buttercream textures are in demand again, Brides are liking the more organic finish that you get from traditional buttercream. What keeps these cakes from being stuck in the ’80s are contemporary colors for the blooms and different textures. Speaking of frosting, sometimes you just don’t need it. “Naked” cakes, which are unfrosted (or partially frosted) and simply adorned with berries or fresh flowers, are trending from coast to coast — and at both relaxed receptions and more formal affairs .Decadent flavors. No doubt couples have a more sophisticated palate these days. A vanilla cake just won’t do anymore. One of my most requested flavors for 2016 is salted caramel. Others on the rise: lemon, champagne, lavender-vanilla,  and bourbon chocolate.

Fun Ideas Your Guests Will Wish They Did

I love new ideas for brides to enjoy, here is a stream of some that I find interesting. Leave fun facts about yourselves on the tables. Pin something on your bouquet like ribbons or small framed pictures of loved ones something to personalize your bouquet. Make your own Instagram hashtag that your guests can use. Not only is it fun for them, but it also allows you to see all of the pictures your guests uploaded to Instagram in one search.  A “Please Call Anyone But the Bride” list of phone numbers for your wedding party to keep stressful, last-minute problems away from the bride on her wedding day. For The Love Of Flowers

I have a love of flowers that is why I am so crazy about new and unique ways to use flowers for weddings. This year seems to be the year that flower installations have really taken off and we’ve enjoyed seeing them take form. Here at Fireseed we have a metal tree in the lounge area that was recently transformed into an ethereal thing of beauty thanks to Tobey from Vases Wild. … Read More

Unique Wedding Ideas

I have seen some pretty great wedding ideas over the years and I love the unique and original here a few for you to think about. Make your guests feel like VIP’s with welcome bags that go beyond a map and a few snacks. Stuff personalized tote bags with mini bottles of bubbly or a six-pack of a local microbrew, a gift certificate to your favorite local coffee shop and an individual “Welcome!” note from you.  Keep your guests comfortable all day by thinking ahead. Out of town guests will appreciate a custom scented soap so they don’t have to rely on the standard hotel samples. Planning on dancing in high heels? Put out baskets of flip-flops (in your wedding colors, of course) so guests can take their shoes off. Having an outdoor reception that might get breezy? Make sure guests keep warm by offering up some cozy pashminas. And for a summer outdoor ceremony in the afternoon, provide a station with spray-on sunscreen and a stack of inexpensive sunglasses. Tips For Your Wedding

Here are a few tips to help your day be the best.

Keep Your Ceremony Brief

Don’t get us wrong, your friends and family are present at your big day to see you get married — but no one wants to watch a drawn out ceremony. Keep the actual proceedings (not including entrances and exits) around 20 minutes so you won’t lose anyone’s attention.

Choose a Personalized Program

While we’re on the topic of the ceremony, don’t forget about creating a wedding program. By personalizing this piece of stationery with interesting details about you and your groom, a breakdown of the ceremony’s proceedings, and any important information they should know (like a translation of traditional vows or that you’d prefer photos aren’t taken) you’ll capture their attention and get all of those key details across. Plus, it will keep them busy if the event runs a little late.
